Why choose a Mercury 115hp Four Stroke engine?...
Mercury’s world-renowned engineering team has packed incredible power into these lighter, compact four-cylinder single-overhead-cam engines.
The 115hp weighs 20 pounds less than its closest four-stroke competitor, making it the world’s lightest low-emissions outboard in its power range.
Dry weight specification is for the lightest-version model. Comparative weights refer to base engines without oil,
propeller or integral steering cylinder. Weights based on Owner’s Manual specifications.
Less weight and high displacement mean Mercury’s new 75 - 115 Four-Strokes generate abundant torque and immediate power.
Because they don’t have to work as hard as heavier engines or those with lower displacement, these engines make boats plane
faster, accelerate better and provide optimal fuel efficiency at cruising speed.
Best Corrosion Protection
True Corrosion Protection starts with the alloys.
Mercury manufactures its own aluminium-silicon alloy and custom designs it to ensure the lowest effective copper content.
XK360 - <0.20% Copper Content
The most corrosive resistant alloy on the market today and it is a Mercury Exclusive. Used only on Die Cast components like: engine blocks, cylinder heads, gear cases, drive shaft housings and stern drive units
A356 - <0.15% Copper Content
Used in Lost Foam components or permanent mould castings Used on blocks, heads, clamp & swivel brackets
MercAlloy - <0.20% Copper
Very costly – but provides superior impact protection Used only on Die Cast components: on large outboard Drive Shaft Housings and most of Mercury’s Aluminium Props
